Nes Pamilar (52), one of the most decorated volleyball coaches, passed away early Saturday due to heart failure. He was rushed to the Philippine Heart Center immediately but was not revived successfully.
He is survived by Bing, his wife, and his three sons. In 2017, he was operated for a bypass surgery when a clogged artery was detected.
Pamilar recovered from the operation and went back to coach Tacloban Fighting Warays in the PVL and San Beda Red Spikers.
Been a pillar of volleyball, he’s a known winner in collegiate level for winning 2 UAAP titles for FEU in 1980’s. In 1990’s, he manned the sidelines for the champion Letran team. He will be known best for steering the FEU Lady Tamaraws to championship in 2007. Soon after, he coached the DLSU Green Spikers.
Calm and collected, Nes Pamilar made victories in club teams and won championships in the SVL.
