4 Returning Players Bound to Make Explosive Comeback in UAAP Season 81 Women’s Volleyball

We have seen them show their wares at the taraflex courts of the UAAP Women’s Volleyball. For some reason, they skipped playing UAAP Season 80. However, these veterans will surely make their impact this upcoming season. Here is a list of the five returning players that will surely make UAAP Season 81 a lot more fun and exciting! Will they stage a solid comeback?

4. Jasmine Alcayde, UE Lady Warriors

A promising middle blocker, Jasmine Alcayde’s Season 79 really made her one of the ones to watch out in terms of net defense. However, a tragic injury at the off-season, just months before UAAP Season 80, halted her development. Now, she’s already training with the team and have been suiting up for the Lady Warriors as an opposite hitter. Will she fulfill her new role or will she be designated as a middle blocker again later on this season?

3. Rica Diolan, NU Lady Bulldogs

When Ivy Perez and Azi Soliven left NU, there was an open spot for a formidable setter in the team. Once an exciting setter to watch for coming from the high school ranks, Rica Diolan made an impression as she joined UAAP Season 78. Diolan was also a setter to the U-17 Girls’ National Team along with NU GVT’s Nisperos, UP’s Layug, Dorog, Molde, Magsarile, Rosier and UST’s Franciso, Teope and Viray. Diolan was once the hopeful cure for NU setter woes. As the season progressed, Diolan was put in the sidelines after Coach Roger Gorayeb found a gem in Jasmine Nabor as a setter.

Diolan went to CSB, where she has not played at all – and then to, UE before coming back home. After two years, will we see Rica Diolan become a dominant setter for the Lady Bulldogs? Experience and maturity is there – and with two very skilled setters, NU is expected to shock some teams this season.
